Jennifer Parmenter, PCC

Jennifer D. Parmenter earned a Masters of Education in Community Counseling from Malone University in 1999. She was awarded a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1994, from Malone University.

Ms. Parmenter is independently licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor by the State of Ohio, Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.  She has been employed at NEOBH since 2015.

Since the beginning of her 20+ year career as a counselor, Ms. Parmenter has focused her practice on children, adolescents, and their families. She has additional skills in treatment approaches needed by adults who have a variety of difficult life issues. Ms. Parmenter has more than twenty years of experience in the provision of both Home and School-Based treatment services, and has expanded treatment provision to client populations that would not otherwise be able to access quality mental health services, due to various barriers.   Ms. Parmenter has worked within schools in the Stark County area, and has delivered training to teachers regarding how to effectively intervene with students whose emotional concerns may be demonstrated within the classroom. This work has allowed her to assist parents and teachers toward the goal of ensuring that children are successful in both their home and their classroom environments.

Ms. Parmenter has received specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has training and experience in the treatment of individuals impacted by grief and loss. She additionally provides Parenting Consultation, and can assist parents in the effective parenting of children with problematic behaviors.
