Michael L. Stranathan, M.A.

Mr. Stranathan is a 2012 graduate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and received a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology.  He has also completed graduate course work in Clinical Psychology and School Psychology.

Mr. Stranathan has over 10 years of experience in the provision of psychological assessment services to adolescents and adults with a wide variety of emotional, behavioral, academic and neuropsychological problems.  Mr. Stranathan is proficient in the administration, scoring and interpretation of an extensive number of psychometric tests, and has performed evaluations for the Bureau of Disability Determination/Social Security, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Bureau of Workers Compensation, and local Developmental Disability Boards, in order to determine client eligibility for funded services.

Mr. Stranathan has a strong interest in neuropsychological assessment, and is skilled in the administration of a number of neuropsychological tests in order to enchance psychological evaluations of clients whose functioning may be impacted by some type of brain impairments.  Thus, he is able to provide an additional perspective to evaluations of clients who demonstrate academic difficulties/learning disabilities, problems associated with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, etc.

Mr. Stranathan has considerable skill in the delivery of court testimony, and has particular interest in Competency Assessments connected with Criminal, Civil and Juvenile/Family Court cases.  He is regularly asked to provide Competency to Stand Trial (CST) evaluations for youth involved with the Stark Family Court, and has provided the court with research regarding ways in which juveniles might be restored to competency.  Mr. Stranathan is additionally skilled in assessing juveniles who have experienced traumatic events that may be contributing to behavior that has caused them to come to the attention of juvenile authorities.
